Evergreen

“Change is my middle name.” This quote from Joanne says a lot about Joanne’s approach as a business builder. Growing and adapting are the natural order of things. In life and in business things happen – a tree falls in the way – and a leader needs to be constantly adapting. This Insight Portrait reflects Joanne’s view of the world as a natural living system. There is a central tree that shows its resilience in the way that it has developed. It leans away from the wind bending to accommodate the prevailing gusts. The gusts pass and the tree remains standing.

Joanne shares some of the gifts of this evergreen tree. She has an ability to look at the various parts of the system and to build good processes that are foundational to the survival of the whole. The tree shows its root system that expands horizontally, and also has roots that penetrate deep into the soil. This allows the tree to survive in rocky terrain and still provide the nutrients and water that the whole system of the tree needs to survive. This root system, like the systems that Joanne puts in place, is efficient and effective.
