MEET – SABEEN HAQUE

Säbeen is a corporate escape artist. In 2007, she turned in her power stilettos and walked away from high ranks and a six-figure world; looking for a real life, true love and the pursuit of creativity.

After re-connecting with her own passions and interests, Säbeen joined Ladies Who Launch as Market Director for Canada. Running business incubators, Säbeen has helped hundreds of women get un-stuck and move forward with their businesses and creative ideas.

As a Start-up Junkie and Venture Catalyst, Säbeen consults with companies and brands globally. Among her clientele, she is currently an advisor to two non-profits under the Clinton Global Initiative where she is specifically sparking creativity to issues facing women and girls in the emerging worlds.

With her focus on women empowerment, she was invited to attend the Women in the World Summit with attendees such as Secretary Hillary Clinton, Madeline Albright, Queen Rania, Barbara Walter, Fatima Bhutto and women leaders and social activists alike, all uniting for the empowerment of women. Säbeen also participated in President Obama’s Entrepreneurial Summit that brought together 250 social entrepreneurs from over 50 countries with a common goal of creating new partnerships and dialogues.  Säbeen’s newest brand, My Creative Skirt, a boutique consulting company for women entrepreneurs, launches in 2010. “Hemlines change,” she says as she meets women from different parts of the world, “but creativity is always in style.” Whatever the business, whatever the hemline, this company is all about teaching women to run their businesses and life like women and stand tall on the heels of success!

Meeting Sandy to do the discovery session was such a gift in itself. The Insight Portrait gave the experience a voice and vision and has become my keepsake from that day. I was taken back when I got my portrait. It is such a compliment that Sandy “got” me. She told me how she had something in mind when she started but then the painting took a life of it’s own. Sandy did a lot more than paint a portrait for me. She allowed me to look in the mirror and reflect back my own light. Something I do for others but seldom for myself. The portrait now hangs where my mirror used to and somehow it continues to grow and change with me and my spirit.

Singer of Truth

Säbeen loves words: loves possibility: loves discovery: loves seeing the gifts of others: loves life. She has her finger on the pulse of everyone’s story, and she cuts clearly and cleanly through to let their essence shine. Säbeen walks in beauty and song and passion. She naturally co-inspires others to understand and utilize their creativity. All around her magic happens.

Säbeen embodies yin and yang walking the thread between forces in her life: silence and sound, outgoing entrepreneur and reflective spirit. She walks a path of deep connection to spirit, compassion and community. As she can see the light in others; others readily see the light in Säbeen.

Her path as teacher and guide was written long before she arrived. If at times the path is not perfectly clear she can sink into the knowledge that it is still there written on the soles of her feet. The path will appear with every step Säbeen takes.
